Last week we took off for an impromptu road trip. We had sort of planned it but weren't sure how things would go. We woke up really early (3:30 a.m.) and took off for Lakeland, Fla. My niece was playing basketball in the state tournaments and we wanted to see the state playoffs, they started on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. They were two of the most exciting basketball games I have ever watched. On Wednesday they won by just 2 points, during the game they were either 2 to 4 points ahead or tied or the other team was 2 to 4 points ahead. There was never a time when we could actually relax and say "Ok I think we have this." Then on Friday it was the last game and would determine whether they won state or not. All during the first half of the game we were behind 5 to 7 points. We were screaming and worrying. At the second half we pulled up to tie then got 2 more points and then 3 more, we were 5 points ahead and very excited. About that time the other team got 2 points making the gap not so big. It was 1:00 minute left in the game and we were ahead 3 points. Our girls held them off and at 6 seconds left one of the coaches called time out. Our nerves were shattered. They all get back on the floor and start playing. I am standing there and all of a sudden my brother starts hugging and screaming at me. I guess I missed the buzzer cuz I sure didn't know the game was over. We won by 3 points. The girls were crying, all the parents were crying. It was awesome. Could not have asked for more excitement, surely my heart would not take it, haha.
